Bioluminescence lights up Towamba
Following the success of programs and installations at Tathra Wharf, Montreal Goldfield, Cobargo Folk Festival and Candelo Village Festival, Bioluminescence Project is set to light up Towamba on Saturday 17 June 2023 from 6pm.
The Bioluminescence Project is where nature and art meet science. Bioluminescence offers young people in the region the opportunity to develop practical skills and knowledge difficult to get outside of a big city.
In the lead up to the Towamba event, the project team will work with students from Eden Marine High School. Students participate in two intensive days of workshops learning video projection mapping, videography and editing skills similar to those used at internationally renowned festivals of light, such as VIVID Sydney and Parrtjima.
The result is an incredible video and light show showcasing the local environment as well as the creativity and talent of the project participants. The event will be delivered by the students, who will also be learning valuable event management skills, at Towamba Hall’s Winter Warmer evening, thanks to the Towamba Community Progress Association and support by the Mumbulla Community Foundation. Local musician Ricky Bloomfield will be performing, supper is supplied and the event is free to attend.
